One of the most important honors for Ceará's business community, the Edson Queiroz Medal honors outstanding entrepreneurs who stand out in the corporate world. In December 2018, at the Ceará State Legislative Assembly, Vilmar Ferreira, president of Grupo Aço Cearense, was one of the evening's honorees, along with businessmen Beto Studart and Rafael Ferreira Idelbergue Leal.
The Edson Queiroz Medal was established by Law No. 10,695 of July 1982, establishing Ceará Business Owners' Day. Vilmar Ferreira was honored to receive the honor. "There's no doubt that Chancellor Edson Queiroz's legacy is immensely important. It's a great honor for the recipient of the medal, as it sets an example for future generations of entrepreneurs. This gives us the energy, courage, and enthusiasm to continue pursuing entrepreneurship and contributing to our state's economy," said the president of the Aço Cearense group.
