An event to mobilize the communities of Caucaia and surrounding regions, encouraging a peaceful experience and awakening young people to the importance of cycling as a sport. It is with this goal that the Instituto Aço Cearense is promoting, for the second time, on September 9th (Saturday), starting at 7 a.m., the Cycling Tour. “Pedaling for Peace”, in Caucaia. The initiative is in partnership with the Associação Escola de Campeões (located at 1273 Raimundo Nonato Alexandre Street, Camurupim), where the tour will depart and end, passing through the streets of the Mestre Antônio neighborhood. A larger turnout is expected than the last edition, held in 2016, when approximately 100 people participated.
There will also be a theatrical performance by students from the School of Champions and a moment of prayer. Anyone can participate, provided they wear white, and children must be accompanied by a guardian. Registration is open at the School of Champions, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and requires presentation of a CPF (Individual Taxpayer Registry), ID (RG), or birth certificate. For more information, call (85) 3342-0129 or 99239-4548.
On August 11th, the Instituto Aço Cearense held the first edition of Cycling for Peace Project in March (236 km from Fortaleza), with the support of Crea-CE and the municipal Sports Department. The event changed the daily lives of residents, with the participation of approximately 700 people, including students, teachers, and administrators from the city's public schools, who took advantage of the Student's Day holiday to participate. Cyclist Gilberto Silva, sponsored by the Institute, participated both by pedaling and by giving a motivational talk about the important role of sport in his life. Today, Gilberto Silva is ranked 2nd in the state in cycling and 3rd in the country in the XCM category.
