Aço Cearense Group promotes environmental education for employees' children

The action takes place in the company's industry and in Cocó Park

Environmental education is a form of learning aimed at raising people's awareness of the environment, ensuring a new approach to preserving the planet for the future. With this in mind, the Aço Cearense Group, through the IAC – Instituto Aço Cearense, is promoting the "Environmental Education" project, which aims to share knowledge with the families of its employees. The initiative took place today at Aço Cearense Industrial and will initially run until Tuesday (3) at Parque do Cocó.

Around 15 children and teenagers, aged between 12 and 17, children of the Group's employees, are participating in the program, which includes activities such as educational lectures, selective collection activities, the Educa Parque operation, a seedling workshop, a trail, a picnic, a film screening, an exhibition of sustainable products, a quiz, a raffle, and a guided trail.

According to Carlos Yves Cavalcanti, Sustainability Manager, the idea for the project emerged from suggestions from his team members. The idea was to promote environmental awareness and the possibility of passing it on to everyone at Grupo Aço Cearense, their children, and neighboring communities. "We believe that thinking about the environment and how to preserve it for future generations is a duty for all of us as a society. Grupo Aço Cearense promotes numerous actions and projects to preserve and mitigate environmental impacts. Promoting sustainable knowledge, values, and practices is part of our daily lives, which is why the Environmental Education project is being developed so that it can extend beyond the company walls, reaching employees' families and the communities where they live, thereby multiplying this knowledge," he explains.
