The SINOBRAS Florestal operates in eucalyptus reforestation and is located in Araguatins and São Bento do Tocantins – TO. It is responsible for the supply of bioenergy reducers to the blast furnace of SINOBRAS (Siderúrgica Norte Brasil), located in Marabá – PA.
It consists of 15 farms owning eucalyptus reforestation in an area of 25.100 thousand hectares of legal reserve area and permanent preservation areas and another 16 thousand hectares destined to the cultivation of eucalyptus.
The company has two Bioenergetic Reducer Production Units with a production capacity of 25,500 cubic meters of coal. A battery with 24 rectangular ovens installed in the Santa Lucia farm and the other battery of 22 ovens is in the São Martinho farm, both equipments that mitigate the environmental impacts and produce the charcoal that is used by SINOBRAS. In addition, SINOBRAS Florestal has centralized in its operations the modules for harvesting, transportation and management of mechanized firewood and coal and a maintenance center that guarantees the availability of equipment.
